SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

Spinal decompression is the fastest way to not only relieve disc herniations, disc bulges, and disc injuries, but it also helps to aid in the healing and recovery of injured ligaments and tissues. We combine the use of cutting edge treatments with a multi-disciplined approach of pain management, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and spinal rehabilitation to not only treat disc injuries but to help regenerate and heal injured discs and tissues.

Spinal Decompression Therapy, approved by the FDA in 2001 for disc injuries, is not only the least invasive form of treatment for disc injuries but it is the most cost-effective treatment for herniated and degenerative spinal discs, and spinal stenosis. Spinal decompression works on the affected spinal segment by significantly reducing intradiscal pressure and creating a vacuum affect on the herniated tissue. This natural vacuum retracts the extruded disc material and thus takes the pressure off the pinched nerve and reduces inflammation. In addition, the vacuum effect will many times increase the spacing between the vertebra as the involved discs are rehydrated, allowing even more room for the nerve. Then, as the disc re-hydrates, its shock absorbing capabilities are restored, reducing mechanical stress on the related structures (facet joints and supporting ligamentous tissues) and slowing or halting the osteoarthritc damage. This is the best non-surgical procedure for patients suffering with bulging or herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, sciatica, failed back surgery syndrome, and non-specified mechanical low back or neck pain resulting in spinal stenosis.

Dr. Louis Woelfel  was one of the first providers in the South Bay to introduce spinal decompression a decade ago. We combine the use of spinal decompression, with medical therapy, and spinal rehabilitation to help treat disc disorders.  For a FREE CONSULTATION to find out if you’re a candidate for this amazing therapy, call (310) 540-9796  today!
